Apple Releases Vision Pro Development Tools and Headset Emulator
Apple has released new and updated tools, including visionOS SDK, updated Xcode, Simulator, and Reality Composer Pro, for developers to build XR apps in preparation for the release of Apple Vision Pro in early 2024. These tools are available at the Vision OS developer website. Simulator simulates the Apple Vision Pro and allows developers to test their apps before having access to the headset, while Reality Composer Pro is an easier alternative to Unity for building interactive scenes with 3D models, sounds, and textures. Developers can also use Unity to build visionOS apps. Apple plans to open 'Developer Labs' worldwide for developers to test their apps on the headset and will allow developers to apply for Apple Vision Pro development kits next month.
