Virtuix Says Its Omni One Home VR Treadmill System Will Finally Launch In September

Virtuix's long-awaited Omni One, an integrated home VR treadmill, is set to start shipping in September, the company has announced. Initially slated for a late 2021 release, the Omni One is unique as it incorporates a VR headset specifically designed to work with the treadmill. The headset, originally planned to be Pico Neo 2, will now be the higher-end Pico 4 Enterprise, which features eye and face tracking along with faster RAM. Instead of running on Pico’s platform, the headset will use Virtuix's Omni Store, offering over 50 games at launch, including titles like "Ghostbusters: Rise of the Ghost Lord" and "Sniper Elite VR."

Notably, the term "treadmill" is somewhat misleading; the Omni One uses special shoes on a concave base and a harness to allow for movement. Priced at $2595, which covers the headset, controllers, and treadmill, it's available for preorder in the continental U.S. with a $200 deposit. Visit UploadVR for the full story.
