Virtual Desktop Update Introduces Desk Passthrough and Lower Latency at High Bitrates - UploadVR

Virtual Desktop Update Brings Desk Passthrough & Reduced Latency At High Bitrates

Virtual Desktop has released an update that introduces Desk Passthrough, reduces latency at high bitrates, and includes a new virtual environment. Desk Passthrough, available on Meta Quest headsets, allows users to see their actual keyboard, mouse, and accessories while in VR. Additionally, latency for PC VR streaming is significantly reduced on devices with the Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 chipset, like the Quest 3, Quest 3S, and Pico 4 Ultra. The update can cut total latency by up to 11 milliseconds depending on bitrate. Lastly, a new virtual environment called First Class has been added, ideal for using PC monitors. Despite other platforms offering similar features for free, developer Guy Godin continues to enhance Virtual Desktop, making it a preferred tool for many VR users.
