Varjo Introduces 'Teleport' Service for Effortless Scanning of Real Locations into VR - Road to VR

Varjo Launches ‘Teleport’ Service to Easily Scan Real Places and Bring Them into VR

Varjo has launched "Teleport," a new smartphone-based 3D scanning service aimed at enterprise users. This service allows for the rapid creation of photorealistic environments that can be explored in VR or on traditional screens. Teleport supports iPhones and iPads with iOS 17 or later, enabling users to quickly capture and recreate real-world locations. The 3D models, processed in the cloud using advanced technologies, can be accessed on various devices. Teleport is available for $30 per month, with a seven-day free trial. Concurrently, Varjo expanded its Series D funding with new investors, boosting its total funding to roughly €180 million. This will support the further integration of AI and machine learning into their XR solutions for industrial applications. Additionally, Meta is developing a similar consumer-focused product, Horizon Hyperscape. For the complete story, visit Road to VR.
