Developer Recreates Apple Vision Pro Front Display On Quest Pro Using An iPhone
A developer has recreated Apple Vision Pro's front display on a Meta Quest Pro using an iPhone. The unique feature of Vision Pro is the 'EyeSight' lenticular display that shows a rendered view of your upper face to others nearby. However, since Vision Pro is expensive, the developer recreated it by attaching an iPhone to the headset. The iPhone's FaceID sensor suite positions the face and eyes correctly and switches to a colored pattern when no one is nearby. This experiment only works for one person and is not a practical accessory. It also blocks the view of the Quest Pro's cameras, making real-world passthrough unusable. Despite these limitations, it showcases a potential method for future headsets to display the user's eyes without a lenticular display. For more details, please visit the source.
