Ultraleap Demonstrates Meta's Ray-Ban Glasses with Integrated All-Day Hand Tracking Sensor - UploadVR
Ultraleap Demos Meta's Ray-Ban Glasses With All-Day Hand Tracking Sensor Added
Ultraleap showcased its vision for all-day gestural recognition with minimal power consumption at the Augmented World Expo in Long Beach. They demonstrated a setup involving a 3D-printed casing for a downward-facing sensor connected to a Raspberry Pi Zero and battery pack. This technology aims to provide continuous gestural input for AR glasses and other wearable smart devices. Matt Tullis, VP of XR at Ultraleap, highlighted the goal of enabling full-day gestural input. There were some missed gestures during the demo, suggesting the need for additional sensors. Ultraleap recently upgraded its hand tracking technology, Hyperion, which features high and low power modes, and is working with various partners to integrate hand tracking into headsets and glasses.
