HTC is Sending a VR Headset to the ISS to Support Astronaut Mental Health

HTC is sending its Vive Focus 3 VR headset to the International Space Station (ISS) to support the mental health of astronauts during their mission. The specially-fitted headset will be used by Danish astronaut Andreas Mogensen as part of a mental health initiative. The VR-based therapy aims to give astronauts a break from their isolating environment by transporting them to different places through immersive videos. While the headset's room-positioning system is not designed for microgravity, a solution using a controller as an anchor point has been devised. The initiative will include 360-degree videos of various nature scenes. Read the full story on Road to VR.
