This year, Shuttering Multiplayer, one of Meta's VR games with significant funding, is coming to an end. - Road to VR
One of Meta’s Most Well-funded VR Games is Shuttering Multiplayer This Year
Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond, the franchise's first virtual reality game, is shutting down its online multiplayer less than three years after its launch. The developers, EA's Respawn Entertainment, announced that multiplayer will be unavailable starting on December 1, 2023. The reason behind the decision is likely the game's rocky launch and lack of sustained support. Despite efforts to improve the game's reception, including lowering the price and slimming down the file size for the Oculus Quest 2, Medal of Honor: Above and Beyond failed to gain significant popularity. This is the latest Medal of Honor title to have online support discontinued, following other games in the franchise such as Medal of Honor (2010) and Medal of Honor: Warfighter (2012).
