VisionOS 2 Launches Next Week, But Three Big Features Won’t Come Until “later this year”
Apple has confirmed the launch of VisionOS 2 on September 16th, bringing along numerous features teased at WWDC in June. However, three significant features won't be available until later this year:
- Panoramic Productivity with Mac Virtual Display - This feature, simulating two 4K displays side by side for enhanced multitasking, allows immersive, ultrawide screen experiences.
- Spatial Videos Support for Final Cut Pro - Users will eventually be able to import and edit spatial videos on their Mac, adding immersive titles and effects for a seamless workflow.
- Apple TV Sports Multiview - Vision Pro will get a Multiview feature, enabling the simultaneous viewing of up to five MLS or MLB games.
Other headlining features coming next week include creating spatial photos from 2D images, a redesigned Photos app, a new dictation method in Messages, AirPlay Receiver, and more.
