Quest v69 Introduces Smooth Multitasking, Adaptive Backlight, and Spatial Audio for 2D Windows - UploadVR

Quest v69 Brings Seamless Multitasking, Adaptive Backlight & Spatial Audio For 2D Windows

The Quest v69 update introduces several enhancements to Meta's mixed reality platform, including multitasking improvements, an adaptive backlight option, spatial audio for windows, and other features. Key updates include the integration of free window positioning from the experimental v67 update and a new "Seamless Multitasking" option, enabling interaction with immersive apps while keeping 2D windows open, albeit with a potential performance trade-off.

Additionally, the "Content-Adaptive Backlight Control" feature, initially expected in v68, is now officially part of v69, enhancing display quality by adjusting backlight brightness dynamically. This update will be gradually rolled out, possibly taking a few days or weeks to reach all devices. It's anticipated to be Meta's final system software update before the Connect conference on September 25-26, where further product and platform improvements are expected to be announced.
