New Meta Accelerator Aims to Fund Quest Developers Building ‘Lifestyle Apps’ Using MR, AI, & Hand-tracking
Meta has unveiled a new developer accelerator program to boost 'Lifestyle' apps for Quest that leverage mixed reality, AI, and hand-tracking technologies. The 'Meta Quest Lifestyle App Accelerator' offers selected participants seed-stage grant funding, product resources, and mentoring from Meta and VC partners, such as a16z and Boost VC. The program, which spans six months, provides milestones for prototyping, up to three Quest 3 dev kits, and ensures full IP ownership for participants. Targeting emerging lifestyle categories like Fashion, Beauty, and Home Design, the initiative excludes firms at Series B or later and those focused on B2B apps, fitness, or video games.
