Mozilla Hubs Is Shutting Down, Will Be Handed Off To The Community
Mozilla Hubs, a WebXR social networking framework, is losing its sponsorship from Mozilla after six years. The service, allowing users to meet in virtual 3D worlds in their browser, is being wound down, but will continue as an open source project on Github. Hand tracking WebXR experiences will still be available across different devices. Mozilla will shut down its demo server on May 31, 2024. Users can visit the source for more information on the shutdown plan and download tools. The community is encouraged to take over the maintenance of the project.
