Meta’s New Demo App is Like ‘Beat Saber’ for Hand-tracking

Road to VRMeta has made significant improvements to its hand-tracking technology since it was first introduced on the original Quest in 2019. In response to competition from Apple's Vision Pro mixed reality headset, Meta has released a new hand-tracking demo showcasing the benefits of its latest software update, Hand Tracking 2.2. The update focuses on improving hand responsiveness and reducing latency by up to 75% during fast movements. Meta has also released a first-party app called Move Fast, which allows users to experience the improved hand-tracking capabilities. Although it is not a full game, Move Fast serves as a demonstration for developers to understand how Meta's Interaction SDK can handle fast-action fitness apps. Users can download Move Fast for free on Quest App Lab for both Quest 2 and Quest Pro. To watch a brief clip of the demo in action, visit the source.
