Meta Shows Off Quest Hand-tracking Improvements, Claims “almost as responsive as controllers”
Apple is betting heavily on hand-tracking for its upcoming Vision Pro VR headset, but can it truly replace VR controllers? Meta, Apple's competitor in the VR space, claims that the recent hand-tracking improvements on its Quest headset are now nearly as responsive as controllers. These improvements include reduced latency, particularly in fast movement, thanks to the introduction of a new Fast Motion Mode. The v56 software update also brings experimental features such as simultaneous hand and controller tracking and the ability to visualize natural hand models. Meta plans to provide more information on its hand-tracking upgrades at its upcoming Meta Connect developer conference on September 27th. For the full story, visit the source at Road to VR.
