Inseye Lumi Is A $160 Cameraless Eye Tracking Addon For Quest 2 & 3

Inseye plans to release a $160 eye-tracking addon called Lumi for Quest 2 and Quest 3, with no set timeline. Unlike traditional camera-based systems, Inseye's solution employs six inexpensive photosensors to measure infrared light reflections from your eye, offering a battery-efficient, high refresh rate (1000Hz) and low latency (less than 1ms). Though slightly less accurate with around 2-degree precision, it can enhance foveated rendering performance. Priced to cover R&D costs, the addon connects via USB-C and also plans to offer compatible prescription lenses. Note, application support requires integrating Inseye’s SDK, making it more suited for PC VR. For the full story, visit UploadVR.
