Ex-Onward Developers Are Creating A "Spiritual Successor"
Tier One: Direct Action, developed by Niorun Studios, is set to arrive on Quest in early access this year as a spiritual successor to the VR tactical shooter Onward. Drawing inspiration from ArmA and Rainbow Six Siege, this tactical FPS emphasizes teamwork and realistic VR mechanics. The game will offer a customizable range of weapons, destructible environments, and various character customization options. A Kickstarter campaign will launch next month, offering exclusive early access rewards and unique in-game items. Early access will feature three gameplay modes: Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, and Satcom, while the full release promises 10 different PvP and PvE modes. The game is slated for early access on Quest App Lab by Q3 2024, with other platforms to follow between Q1 and Q2 2025, and a full release planned for Q3/Q4 2025.
