A VR-Based Flight Simulator Rig Has Been FAA Qualified For The First Time
Loft Dynamics' VR-based flight simulator for the Airbus Helicopters H125 has achieved FAA qualification, allowing U.S. helicopter pilots to use it for official training credits. Already EASA certified since 2021, the simulator covers training for engine failures, emergency procedures, and challenging maneuvers. It uses a high-resolution Varjo VR-3 headset and features a cockpit with controls mirroring the real helicopter. This setup is touted as both cheaper and more compact than traditional simulators. With increasing demand for VR simulators, Loft Dynamics aims to expand FAA qualifications to more aircraft types. For the full story, visit UploadVR.
