Sony's new SRH-S1 "content creation system," unveiled at AWE 2024, combines a compact headset with unique controllers. Although the input and tracking still need improvement, the headset's design is impressive. It's built for enterprise with Qualcomm’s latest Snapdragon XR2 Gen 2 processor. The SRH-S1 offers a 13.6MP per-eye resolution using Sony's ECX344A OLED microdisplay, surpassing Apple’s Vision Pro in both resolution and color accuracy. Featuring adjustable IPD, a flip-up visor, and innovative controllers, the headset aims for ergonomic excellence. Despite its sharp display, the field-of-view isn't expansive, and the demo content appeared choppy, affecting performance.
