Despite being available on the original PSVR, 'Rec Room' does not intend to provide support for PSVR 2 in the future. - Road to VR
‘Rec Room’ Has No Plans to Support PSVR 2 Despite Being on Original PSVR
Rec Room, one of the leading social VR platforms, will not be available on PlayStation VR 2. During a Reddit AMA, Rec Room co-founder Cameron Brown stated that there are no current plans to support Sony's latest VR headset. Brown explained that the porting process is complex and economically unfeasible at the moment. While Rec Room is available on various VR platforms, including the original PSVR, it seems that there simply aren't enough users on PSVR 2 to justify the cost of porting. This lack of support for PSVR 2 may indicate its underperformance in terms of sales volumes compared to other VR headsets. Sony will need to make a decision on whether to invest in more content for PSVR 2 or risk losing third-party developer support. For the full story, users can visit the source at Road to VR.
