'Nearly All' iPad & iPhone Apps Will Be Available On Apple Vision Pro At Launch
Apple has confirmed that "nearly all" iPhone and iPad apps will be available on their upcoming Vision Pro headset. The headset will have its own App Store, with apps specifically developed for visionOS, as well as compatible iPad and iPhone apps. Apple has stated that most frameworks available in iPadOS and iOS will also be included in visionOS, allowing for unmodified running of apps. Developers also have the option to build a native visionOS version of their app and use Apple's Universal Purchase system to offer it for free to customers who have already purchased it on iPhone or iPad. However, apps that rely on certain frameworks not available on visionOS will not be listed in the Vision Pro App Store. Additionally, third-party apps cannot access Vision Pro's cameras, and certain features like TouchID or FaceID will be adapted for visionOS.
